SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SCREENING

A first read to know if a full evaluation makes sense.

Inside the service

A screening is a brief snapshot — 30 to 45 minutes — that gives an initial read on your child's development. It doesn't replace a full evaluation; it guides next steps. Helpful when something is on your mind but you're not sure it warrants a formal evaluation yet.

Who it's for

FAMILIES WHO...

Children 12 months to 12 years whose parents notice something and want clarity before committing to a full evaluation.

How it works

THE PROCESS.

  1. 1Intake conversation with parents about your specific concerns
  2. 2Structured screen of speech, receptive and expressive language, and play
  3. 3Clear recommendation: proceed with evaluation, monitor, or no intervention needed
When to consider it

SIGNS TO WATCH.

  • Your child understands everything but doesn't talk much
  • Only you can understand what they say
  • You notice frustration when they try to communicate
  • Their development looks different from peers their age
